Objective:
To introduce participants to the key principles of IT project management, agile methodologies, and modern tools — including the use of artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency at every stage of the project lifecycle.

Course Modules:

Module 1. Fundamentals and IT Project Context (1.5 academic hours)

  • What is a project and how is it different from a process
  • IT project lifecycle (SDLC): from idea to release
  • Traditional methodologies: Waterfall, PMBOK, PRINCE2
  • Project roles in IT: responsibilities and collaboration
    Mini-exercise: Project decomposition — identify key phases and team roles

Module 2. Agile Approaches (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) (2 academic hours)

  • Agile Manifesto and its core values
  • Scrum: roles, sprints, and artifacts
  • Kanban: visualization, flow, WIP limits
  • Example of a hybrid approach: when Agile + Waterfall makes sense
    Practice: Sprint planning simulation using Scrum / Kanban board in Miro

Module 3. Digital Tools + AI in Project Management (2 academic hours)

  • Overview of popular platforms: Jira, Trello, Notion, Miro
  • How AI can assist:
    • Task generation (ChatGPT)
    • Resource planning (AI assistants)
    • Reporting automation
  • Ethics and limitations of AI in project management
    Practice: Using AI to generate a project plan and sprint structure

Module 4. Team, Communication, and Project Closure (2.5 academic hours)

  • Building a project team: skills and task distribution
  • Team communication strategies
  • Retrospective: closing projects and lessons learned
  • Working with clients and stakeholders
    Practice: Role play: incident analysis within a project team

  • Competitor analysis via digital platforms
